Happy Halloween…and Nevada Day! Sorry for the delay but apparently the auto send did not go through and since we had sketchy reception we did not see it until we got home. We had a lovely weekend at the Camp Far West ride. Nugget and I completed the 50 mile ride on Sunday checking the box for our 9th competitive season together. One more and we will achieve our Decade Team Award. We have a lot of miles between those ears. It is a challenge to keep the older horses going just as it is to keep ourselves going but it is so worth it. Spending a day on a horse that can literally read your mind and just responds to your slightest adjustment is the most amazing thing. At one point as we were going along I lost sight of ribbons and was looking around. Nugget slowed down, started looking for trail and literally as I saw a ribbon she went right back to work. It was so worth all of the hard work to get to this point (we have been here for a few years but it still gives me chills).
But enough of our big weekend. We are once again waiting for the next truck so we may be out of a few things you want but we do have substitutes that will hold you over for a few weeks. We are out of the Timothy Pellets and Alfalfa Pellets. We do have in stock plenty of Alfalfa Cubes as well as Timothy/Alfalfa Pellets. We are running low on Beet Pulp Shreds but have plenty of Pellets. If you can get by with a bag or two of pellets please adjust your order accordingly. I will be holding back on the number of shreds ordered so that everyone will get a bag or two at the very least and then maybe just one bag or so of pellets to get you through. It only takes another 20 minutes or so for the pellets to start soaking up.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience but we have to try to keep the trucks on a schedule so that we don’t have to raise prices based on shipping cost. Things are going up and for those of you who use the Uckele products you will see a slight increase in some of those products.

Premium Alfalfa Cubes provide a good source of protean and can help to stretch your hay supply. Premium Alfalfa Cubes are formed by coarsely grinding Standlee forage and forcing it through a large die with heat and steam. Alfalfa forage is low in sugar, moderately high in protein, high in calories and digestible fiber.
Cubes take a few minutes longer to soak than pellets but are usually soaked well enough in 30 minutes or less. Soaking with warm water will speed that process. With the cooler temperatures we find that setting the evening mash soaking in the morning is just fine.

With the crazy changes in weather that we tend to have this time of year we find that boosting our horses immune system with Phyto-Quench really helps them to adjust and stay healthy.
DELIVERY DAYS
As predicted weather is going to impact our schedule a bit this week. Please take a look at the schedule to make sure you have your orders in. We will not deliver during wet weather. It is just too hard on some of the feeds to be exposed to moisture if you don’t have the ability to open the bags and let them breath a bit. Putting the schedule out a few months ahead still seems to be working well, so we will continue to post three months of deliveries at a time. With fuel prices as high as they are we will be trying to be as efficient as possible in our delivery days. We are making fewer additional trips to town as well so our ability to fit in a last minute order is a little limited so may not happen as fast as you have experienced in the past. Special trips to town for that “I have to have it or else…” order will have a $10 delivery fee. If you need to, you can always stop by and pick up anything you might need, just give us a call ahead of time to schedule. The sooner you get your orders in the better we are able to plan, but not later than 5pm the night before your scheduled delivery day. With winter will come weather than can impact our deliveries. If we have to make changes we will let you know. It is always a good idea to plan ahead and have enough to carry your through an extra week if the even weather keeps us from delivering as planned. Thank you
