Well it appears that March is coming at us with gusto. As much as we need the moisture we are sort of getting tired of the constant barrage of snow, wind and ice. We got so tired of it we just left town a few times…well OK, every week. It was sure nice to feel the sun and not be out with an extra 40 pounds of clothes on. The down side is when we came back we found our tolerance for this ick was lacking. On the flip side we should be in for a real treat with the wild flowers this year.
With the weather being so unpredictable I am going to do the very best to stick to the schedule but if it looks nasty I just wont go out. The best way to deal with that is to get your orders in well ahead of time. If I have a good list then I can sneak in deliveries ahead of schedule if it starts looking like there will be a weather impact. That way you are not waiting for a delivery and run out of supplies. These past couple of months have just been insane with the weather impacts. Hopefully we will get a break at some point and life can get back to normal crazy.
Our big even this month, weather permitting, is the Rides of March 30 and 50 mile Endurance Rides being held on the 18th of March. This event is held in the Sandhills BLM Area off Red Rock Road. If you have ever wondered about doing endurance this is a great event to come out an volunteer for. Since everything happens in camp its easy to see the flow and all of the horses coming and going from the various loops. If you would like to spend a fun day with horses, meet like minded horse crazy people and maybe some new trail buddies let me know. In April we will have another event at Fort Churchill State Park that will include Intro Rides that are only 5 and 10 miles if you think you might like riding a well marked trail at your own pace, getting a great meal and even an award for your efforts then go to http://www.nastr.org to find out more.

Now in stock in limited sizes! We will add sizes based on customer requests. Don’t wait until the day you want to try these out to place your order. Sizes are the same as the other Versa glue and nail on. We are still carrying the regular Versa Glue On’s as well with the cuff. Both are easily applied with Easyshoe Quick Set Super Glue or any other the other gluing products. Plus you can even die them to your favorite colors. Find out how here: https://blog.easycareinc.com/how-to-dye-an-easyshoe-versa-grip/
From the Easycare Website: “The EasyShoe Versa Grip Octo is a glue-on urethane horseshoe with integrated Finger Tabs that make the gluing process quick and easy. Simply stand the horse in the horseshoe and apply the tabs using Super Glue. No welding required. Available in both front and hind patterns, sizes 102-150.”
With this crazy weather and the horses believing that spring is just around the corner (as evidenced by the appearance of loose hair on those blankets and stall mats) we have increased our use of CocoSoya and CocoOmega products. These are a great source of fat and cool calories to build and maintain healthy weight while supporting healthy blood sugar levels. They also promote healthy skin, a glossy coat and excellent body condition. It also helps to keep hooves nourished and moisturized by supporting the waterproof barrier.

DELIVERY DAYS
Weather is possibly going to impact our schedule a bit this month as well as other factors mentioned previously so we are going to make a few adjustments. Please take a look at the schedule to make sure you have your orders in as early as possible. We will not deliver during wet weather. It is just too hard on some of the feeds to be exposed to moisture if you don’t have the ability to open the bags and let them breath a bit upon delivery. Putting the schedule out a few months ahead still seems to be working well, so we will continue to post three months of deliveries at a time. With fuel prices as high as they are we will be trying to be as efficient as possible in our delivery days. We are making fewer additional trips to town as well so our ability to fit in a last minute order is a little limited so may not happen as fast as you have experienced in the past. Special trips to town for that “I have to have it or else…” order will have a $10 delivery fee. If you need to, you can always stop by and pick up anything you might need, just give us a call ahead of time to schedule. The sooner you get your orders in the better we are able to plan, but not later than 5pm the night before your scheduled delivery day. With winter will come weather than can impact our deliveries. If we have to make changes we will let you know. It is always a good idea to plan ahead and have enough to carry your through an extra week if the weather keeps us from delivering as planned. Thank you
