April News From The Ranch

I am sure we are all hoping that Harriet is correct. Spring has to get here sometime. The horses are shedding like crazy and there are green bulb tips starting to show. We did a couple of more trips down to Ridgecrest to get out of this weather and be able to ride in sunshine. It was glorious and we cant wait to have that here on a more regular basis.

With Spring will also come the shedding and changing of exercise. It is that time of year that we add a round of Phyto-Quench help boost immunity and help with the change of the seasons. As exercise increases we also have to start thinking about supporting the increase activity with electrolytes and maybe joint supplements. Gut health is always a priority for us here at the ranch but especially with the crazy weather. Probiotics from Uckele such as LBC paste or Absorb-All powder are great for keeping our horses tummy’s working their best.

In more good news, we are happy to share with you a new asset to our horse community with the opening of Resilient Metabolism. Sheryl has a lot to offer for those looking to really dial in their horse, or human, nutrition needs. We have everything you need to adjust and personalize your nutritional needs. Read more about this exiting program below.

We are running to the end of the resupply cycle so will be a little short on Beet Pulp Pellets and Alfalfa/Timothy Cubes until early May. We have lots of Beet Pulp Shreds and Alfalfa/timothy Pellets to hold you over this month. Please help us plan by getting your orders in as soon as possible. With this weather we have to be able to adjust and adapt to get everyone’s needs met.

Introducing Equine Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis

Have you ever wished your horse could tell you how they feel? Have you ever wondered if you were providing effective, appropriate feed and supplements? Have you ever wanted to enhance their performance? Help is on the way – we are SO excited to announce Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) testing can do just that and more and is now available in your area!

As horse owners, we all appreciate the importance of good nutrition and how it impacts the health and welfare of our beloved equines.  We strive to provide the best feed and supplement program possible. With HTMA, you no longer have to guess if what you are doing is working. HTMA is a simple, non-invasive method that screens more than thirty minerals, toxic heavy metals, and ratios using a small hair sample from your horse’s mane. All the important nutritional and toxic elements accumulate in hair sample, providing for an in depth 2-to-4-month glance at deficiencies, excesses, and interrelationships. HTMA measures mineral content and reflects how much is in the tissues, providing a realistic picture of the horse’s overall internal environment. An accurate interpretation of nutritional status and how well the body is working may be derived from the results. Since what the horse consumes is metabolized and retained, by looking at how the body has processed nutrients we can determine what the body needs and what should be avoided. The results deliver animal specific, bio-individual, metabolic data as it relates to the current state of the animal’s health, early detection of trends toward disease, and whether your program is best serving your horse’s needs. This is how HTMA can assist in determining supplementation guidelines and be used to effectively modify your program.

Samples may easily be taken and submitted by Sheryl Scott of Resilient Metabolism Health Solutions, or under her direction and assistance. Results currently require 3-4 weeks to process and are offered with a client specific consultation and recommendations. The majority of your supplement needs are available through Three R’s Ranch, while all others may be obtained via Resilient Metabolism Health Solutions. By examining the nutritional health of your horse with real clinical data, you can apply science to increase performance in any animal whether it be for work, show, play or athletic competition. To monitor and evaluate improvements, re-testing is recommended every 3-6 months; this may conveniently be set up on a scheduled, re-occurring basis. We also offer HTMA for people and dogs!

Our complete Equine HTMA Package consists of the HTMA test, recommendations and a consultation for only $249. As an introductory offer, we are providing a limited number of Equine HTMA Packages that will receive the recommendations as a bonus, bringing the rate to only $199 through April 30, 2023! Please note, Three R’s Ranch does not provide HTMA, is not an affiliate of Resilient Metabolism Health Solutions and will not be able to assist you with any HTMA questions. Delivery Days

Weather is possibly going to impact our schedule a bit this month as well as other factors mentioned previously so we are going to make a few adjustments. Please take a look at the schedule to make sure you have your orders in as early as possible. We will not deliver during wet weather. It is just too hard on some of the feeds to be exposed to moisture if you don’t have the ability to open the bags and let them breath a bit upon delivery. Putting the schedule out a few months ahead still seems to be working well, so we will continue to post three months of deliveries at a time. With fuel prices as high as they are we will be trying to be as efficient as possible in our delivery days. We are making fewer additional trips to town as well so our ability to fit in a last minute order is a little limited so may not happen as fast as you have experienced in the past. Special trips to town for that “I have to have it or else…” order will have a $10 delivery fee. If you need to, you can always stop by and pick up anything you might need, just give us a call ahead of time to schedule. The sooner you get your orders in the better we are able to plan, but not later than 5pm the night before your scheduled delivery day. With winter will come weather than can impact our deliveries. If we have to make changes we will let you know. It is always a good idea to plan ahead and have enough to carry your through an extra week if the weather keeps us from delivering as planned. Thank you
